power steering gearbox 1967 Barracuda

I just replaced the gearbox in my !967 Barracuda. It works but feels a little like it is ratcheting. Does anyone have any clues? Could I need to check some adjustment or something? I truly don't want to have to do this job again, it was absolutely no fun. I am driving the car, it just doesn't feel totally right.
