just put a 360 motor in a 73 duster that was a original 318 car. started it and steering went all the way to the right , pump making noise and cant turn the steering wheel while its running. any ideas?

If they are the same as a 66 model, it sounds like the metering valve got bumped.

Years ago I replaced the o-rings under the valve and its a bear to get adjusted. Do you have a service manual? Download a free one at MyMopar - Mopar Forums & Information - Service Manuals

Basically, you slightly loosen the bolts of the valve and move it left or right to center it. Literally, only thousands of an inch at a time. Best done with front wheels off the ground, but keep your hands away from the steering wheel when you start the car!!

There should be some threads about it on FABO.

^^^Yup. Loosen the valve housing bolts (just barely-not too much) and tap it down a bit if it's going right- tap it up if it's going left. It doesn't take much at all. When it centers, tighten the bolts.
Lots of threads on this.
