power steering

When going from power to manual steering you will need an adapter as the manual box is smaller so your power steering column will be to short.

If you have the standard or deluxe factory wheel, no problem. The Tuff wheel is smaller in diameter and required power steering. There is a reason for that.

The manual box will usually go 5.2 turns, lock-to-lock; power steering 3.5. A simple way to test if you want the faster box in manual form is to take the belt off the power steering pump. If you're not doing a lot of parallel parking, you may like the faster box.

I split the difference on my '73 /6 and put the smaller wheel (with a fabricated hub pad) from a 94 Dakota. It ups the steering effort and makes it seem a little less numb.
