I have a 72 Demon that came with power brakes. (Front disc, rear drum). I am converting to a big bolt pattern and will be installing an 8.75 rear end to convert to full disc.

I want to convert to manual brakes to clear some room in my engine compartment. Has anyone done this conversion? I am not sure the best path and could use some advice.

Yes you will need to change the master cylinder and most likely the proportioning valve too. The non power master will take less pedal effort. That is the way I did mine. I think in 70 it was an option on a 340 dart with front disc power and non-power brakes.

What year/model master cylinder did you use? I may have crap sources, but no seems to be able to give me a straight answer.

The proportioning valve I will probably get from JEGS. They have a very nice adjustable knob type. I have had aquaintances that have used it with excellent results.
