I have taken out my 72 duster power steering gear to replace it with a manual box. The box is from a 63 Valiant and is in excellent shape. The input shaft on the 63 box is 100 thousands wider then my 72 power gear. Does anyone know if somebody produces an adapter for the difference in the spline shafts. I would like to use my current column if possible. Also, is the larger, or wider shaft only found on manual steering cars?

So is the manual box here, from the 63 Valiant, the exact same as a stock Manual gear from a 72 Duster?

Yes I believe they are all the same except for the Large sector ones which by the pic yours is not .I recomend you do a search for threads on P/S to manual conversions there's a lot of them.I did the conversion On My Dart a while back I ran the adaptor piece till I located a Manual steering column.
