Hey guys so I just finished sanding down my car, so once I put some body filler on some small spots, what kind of primer should I use? Thanks in advance
If you sanded it all the way down to the metal, you should use epoxy primer first, then do your filler on top of that. You can do filler on metal like it's been done forever, but I prefer to do it over epoxy primer. After you get the filler work done, use some good 2K urethane primer to block sand the car with. I like SPI (Southern Polyurethanes) primers and clears.
Southern Polyurethanes is a manufacturer of automotive coatings for the restoration, repair and custom markets. Epoxy Primers, Clear coats, Primers, Basecoat, single stage and more.
You need some DTM Epoxy for just the metal. Don't spray it over the filler you already have on the car, just the metal. I use Tamco DTM HP5300 gray for this.
