The car is at Safelite now receiving a new windshield. I provided the gasket and trim clips since they couldn't source the part. The guy running the shop is familiar with old mopars and has been helpful.

Here is the problem. I ordered a windshield gasket and clips. The clips are too tall and will not work. They are Precision part number PCK-690-68 Clip Kit which is listed as fitting my Dart here. http://precisionrestorationparts.com/i-9942495-windshield-clip-kit-fits-1968-1976-dodge-dart.html

I need to source the correct clips quickly. Safelite has offered to keep the car in their shop for me until I can get them, but I'd rather not wear out my welcome.

1970 Dart. Original 6 cyl car.

in the right order? I thought there were like 4 or so that had to go in a certain spot maybe thats the hang up? NAPA might have them also Advanced Auto has a fastener section

Just figured that out. Guy says there is only one short one and he's counting how many he needs. I'll check out napa and advanced. Thanks man.

Does anyone have a diagram showing how the clips go?

Well I searched all over town and couldn't find them. I ordered these just now.

They look more like the clips that are on the car than anything else I've seen today.

Here is a site link in case that auction goes away.

Let us know
how it works out. I am in the same boat needing the clips and heard that some aftermarket clips dont work

Never mind went to the link you provided (except demon and duster)

They have a separate listing on the site for Demon/Duster.

I contacted the reseller who sold me the gasket and clips. http://columbiapartsco.com/ Chris pretty much told me that no clips fit and seemed to think I wasexpecting it to be 100% perfect. When I mentioned that the bag had the proper size clips just not the right number of the right size he offered to go check a bag and see if maybe I got a bag that was wrong. My bag only had one of the small correct clips and the rest were larger.

Maybe we can figure it out and the people who make the clips can repackage the proper number.

Update: His bag only had the proper size clips. It appears my bag contained more than one type of clip. I'm going to send him pictures this afternoon and let him compare. He seems willing to make it right if the clips I received are wrong.

Update: So Chris seemed willing to investigate the possibility that incorrect clips were sent and possibly furnish the proper clips until he searched my ebay account name and saw I had ordered clips from another vendor today after didn't get an answer on the phone and figured they were gone on a Friday. I'm curious how this will play out. At the end of the day there's only $20 in motion here. This will be a good test for him as a vendor with not a lot on the line. If they end up being the wrong clips he'll either end up on the good guy list for making it right or on the other list if he says sorry about those bad clips but since you've already bought them elsewhere you're on your own.

I just went through this with a 70 duster aftermarket clips would not work
had to get original clips off junk car.You know they will be correct my trim would not clip down had to remove glass and put in original clips which you cant buy.
Half off the aftermarket stuff i have bought does not fit

Update: 2nd package arrived and it's the exact same thing as the larger clips that arrived.

Glass shop says they will move forward and make it work.

Thanks Tony, that's great info.

Ok. Final update:

The windshield is in and the trim is on. It looks perfect. The original clips worked and I have a bag of clips left over if anybody needs them. I guess the other guy at Safelite was a little more familiar with them and was able to get it done.

I am having the same problem getting the windshield trim back on. Was there something your guy did different to make the original clips work? I bought the precision gasket and clips. I had my window guy pull the windshield twice and try to get the windshield to fit better as the gasket does not cover the headliner like the old one. Also, the trim will not go back on. I have something screwy. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
