Procomp heads

Those particular heads have very poor rocker geometry in my experience, I dont know of any rocker that is bolt on. And hopefully they have been properly valve jobbed, normally the seats are cut way undersize for the valve from the factory

I agree. I can’t count the number of heads I’ve done over the years and I’ve never seen ONE set I’d send out without a valve job, unless you consider a horrible valve job acceptable.

I’ve seen guides all over the place, valve seen spring pockets that looked like Bucky Beaver chewed them and decks that looked like they were finished with a chain saw.

When half assed is good enough you can run them out of the box.

You're describing most Edelbrock e-street heads I've seen

after all these posts , I have a set of original procomp heads "victor knock offs , that were cast in China "I presume" , and CNC machined (standard port) , here in America .
When I got them I took them to a friend (18 time national record holder) , and he put them on his flow bench , they flowed more than trickflows ''270 advertised'' flow .
We changed the keepers and locks , and checked the valve job <was great !
When I set them up the rocker shaft assembly from Hughs engines fit great after the Hassel of clearancing the pushrod holes (3 times) , and getting the rockers centered on the valves.
The Hughs assembly on these heads did not require any shimming or moving anything else to get the swipe centered , they have about 2500 miles on them on a 505'' - 440 , 600 lift solid roller . Has a few dragstrip passes , before the thing was broke in , no front end lift at all spinning with drag radials on it , only went only 11:97 . Still disappointed even tho the car wasn't set up right .
Has a hell of a bunch of beating on it . Have kept a hell cat charger from passing me as long as I had passing gear on the 4 lane .

not all heads are created equal------------------jfyi
