:hmph:power brakes were changed from drum to disc on 72 swinger before i got it, from later model. petal is hard, brakes work but wonder if vacc problem or prop valve is still drum and not disc? hummm.

drums dont use a prop valve, only a distribution block

The distribution block is just a brass block that routes fluid to all 4 drums. Pressure to all 4 drums is roughly the same. The proportioning valve does the same, but has a small spring-loaded valve that reduces pressure to the rear brakes so they don't lock up during a hard stop. Makes the front discs do more of the work, which they're good at......

Picture of an A body disc brake proportioning valve, if it's of help to you.

ok i DO NOT have that item on my car. all it has is the block that has it going out to all 4 wheels. so i gues that is what i need to get and put on. I prob have the rear brakes doing the work and not the front. So. now.... used one? anyone got one to sale? tks for the pics, i know i dont' have that one.
