Hello, I am the new owner of a roller 1973 Plymouth Duster set up to be a pro street car. The car is in early stages of being put together but I have big plans for it in the long run. Prior to me buying the car it was set up for a big block and an auto transmission. My plan is to drop another big block in it (likely a 440) and either another auto trans or possibly a manual trans. The car has a narrowed Dana 60 in it with unknown gears to me. It is a bit crusty in the interior but by no means do I plan on making this any form of show car as I personally prefer a little ratty but practical build. I do not have many photos of the car yet but I am more than sure that many more will come with time. I am a younger guy and this is my first project car so I'm sure I'll be floating around here lots. Have a nice day.

Hey there! Welcome to the show.

I'm liking that fat arse look

Good luck on the build

You should wander over to the FABO hangouts at Carlisle if you get a chance

Nice! I’d keep it primer grey, put a flat hood on it and drop a twin turbo big block in it. Then go take everyone’s money.

There’s a possibility I might throw an old procharger on it I just have to see what condition it’s in

Does it still have the 73 K frame,,,and use normal engine mounts ?
Just wondering .

Upon further inspection it looks like it is a modified factory 73 k member that's been notched to fit a larger oil pan but it looks like the previous owner may have ripped a mount out from too much tq. Does anyone know if I'd be able to reuse this K member if I cut out the damage and got a 1/4 or 1/2 in. piece of steel welded into the same spot?

Welcome! I like your approach to the looks of the vehicle.
as for the ripped metal, I would think if you cleaned it up so a flat piece of steel could be welded over the opening, you would be good to go. but that means elephant ears. others more well versed in this will weigh in and give you the precise low down.
Again, welcome. looking forward to watching progress.

Yep,,,from the way it looks,,,it will require an engine plate ( elephant ears ) .
No problem with that though,,,,and the big notch should clear a large BB pan easy .

I agree,,,it would make a much cleaner K frame if it had some plate welded over that butchered engine mount bracket .

It should work fine for what he’s trying to do though .

Thank you both for the help:thumbsup:, would getting elephant ears require getting a mid plate as well or are the elephant ears sturdy enough to be ran alone as mounts? For now I plan on just dropping a stock 440 in it with what I believe will be a purple cam in it so I it shouldn't be pushing egregious power yet but I was also considering possibly going with a blow through turbo set up since Schumacher / TTI long tube headers are only a tad bit less than a decent turbo set up but I could be wrong. If not I'll just get the schumachers most likely.
