Look what I got today....

Barracuda286-vi.jpg

Detroit Musclecar Technologies sent me a pair of prototype hood insert gaskets for `67-8 Barracuda's. They are considering producing these for retail and I promise both Jim from DMT, and my fellow A Body junkies a full installation report.

While the originals were injection molded plastic, these are a flat composite material. Personally, I'm tickled that I have SOMETHING to lay between the inserts and my freshly painted hood since unbroken originals are impossible to find, never mind a set of N.O.S.! But honestly, they look REAL nice. Kudos to the gang at DMT for filling this small niche in our hobby.

Send these guys your business!

Great news.!!!!
I'll take a set, good idea to repop these.

I have thought about repoping the chrome inserts in plastic, just because the originals are so heavy, and then you could loose weight, and look original also.

Keep us informed as to availability on these.

My buddy and I were thinking about making the inserts in Aluminum ( at least the 340-s since that's what I have) I'm going to get as set of the gaskets ASAP!
