I'd like to swap my power steering for manual steering in my 74 Scamp. What's needed to do such a swap?

Thanks.

manual box, either a manual column or the firm firm adapter, and i cant remember if you need a manual pitman arm for a 74. i think 72 down shared the same arm but not 100% on that

Your car has a colapsable steering column. Since it simply needs to be longer, remove the nylon sheer rivets, and slide the inner shaft farther out of the sleeve. I believe at this point you can drill new holes and insert new nylon pins (have to source something that will work).
I've done this with no dificulty. You can use the same coupler. This way cost no money and is perfectly safe since the column is captured and cant extend any more. In a crash it would still function as designed and colapse.

on my 69 dart -- the p/s coupler is smaller than the manual steering one-- LAwrence
