Purchased a 72 Duster from quartermilepass

if you ever need to test parts out on a race 72 duster let me know, the 340 in my blue one that u saw the video of runs hhigh 11's and now after we found the transmission and torque converter were bad hopefully 11.50's now. with the money from the green car i bought another 71 340 and will build it faster. the floors seemed to be good from what i saw underneath, and if any water did get in hopefully that mat helped

Well I figured I post a little up date from the extended weekend on the progress of the Duster. Didn't get much done this weekend as I have a 66 Falcon for my father I am trying to get done as well( So my Dad's car unfortunately comes first lol). As for the Duster I removed the seats to get the old rubber flooring out to get a better look at the condition of floor. Overall I am pleased with the condition of them. I will not know for sure till I soda blast them but it looks like it will only need a small patch on the passengers side. The nice thing about this car is it still has the original paint on it. It was never repainted. There are even the chalk marks still on the roof where the vinyl roof was. As well as all the doors, trunk and engine compartment stickers still intact.
As for the engine we did get her to fire off for us (still need to set the dwell). Did a minor tune up to get her started (points, cap condenser and a balist resistor). Currently I have the steering colum apart as lock cylinder is broken but it should be an easy fix. It is going to need the carb replaced or rebuilt(its currently missing linkages and other parts) so we were thinking of maybe swaping the intake for a 4 barrel and 600 cfm carb.Main thing is just getting it running so we can asses the rest of the drive train. Well that is it for now. Any input is alway appreciated.

P.S
Found two build sheets so far one behind the glove box and one in the rear seat.

Thanks

Did a little more work on the Duster this past weekend. I used PST's tubular upper control arms with our 2" drop spindles to give this old duster a better stance and more adjustability. Plus converting the front over to disc. I only got one side done but I hope to finish the other side this week.

looks good, i hope all works out for the best, i need to see how much you alll charge for front disc conversion for my 72, drums arent cutting it as i go faster

Nice, we had one like this. I actually still have the tail panel and fender in this color. It now sits as Hemi Orange and a 340(almost complete).
