Okay, so I went and picked them up today, and the guy left them in a really crappy state. It's a set of 5 spoke us wheels. 15X7's and 15X8's. They were really dirty and the chrome had some surface rust which really worried me. I got them home and pulled out some really fine steel wool and went to work. All the rust on the chrome is gone, and it's looking beatiful. Took some rubber cleaner to the tires and now the raised white lettering looks like brand new!
The only problem I have now is that I'm pretty sure this guy drove with these rims on gravel roads on a regular basis. There are tiny specs that I can see on all the rims from rocks. Is there any way to get rid of them? I took the wool to these specs but it just cleaned the rust away from them. You can't see them standing 5 feet away, but I know they are there. If there's some way to treat the little flaws and imperfections in chrome, I would gladly hear it!
