Okay guys this hunt for 14 inch tires has really become exhausting. So with that said I have decided that I am going to go a whole different direction and I need your input/help. I want to go with simple stock black rims with some nice chrome lug nuts. The question is what type of car would provide the right size of rim? I am thinking of making a run to the pick a part this weekend in search of some rims. I own a 74 Dodge Dart with SS leaf springs in the back and HD torsion bars in the front. I was thinking of finding some 15x6 inch rims but am confused about backspacing and such.

small 4" or large 4 1/2" bolt circle?
what size 14" tires are you having trouble finding?

Chrysler 15" x 7" steel wheels.
They came on E,B,C bodies. Cant remember the BS,but I believe there all pretty much the same. I think they also came on Dodge trucks (Ramcharger ?) as well.

I take it you have big bolt pattern.
If you see some 15" x 7" 5 on 4.5" chrysler wheels,buy them.

Here is a set on my 74. 235/60-15's all around.

The Duster/Dart Sport has more room in the back,so some guys go to a taller tire in the back.

Relly think your on the right track with the 15's.

tirerack.com has 195/70-14, only that is a bit small for an A-body if you want to use a 70 series 205 will be better, if you want a 195 then a 75 aspect ratio will work better, if you want a larger tire in the back try a 215/70-14 or 225/70-14 or if your rear rims are wide enough and you have wheel well clearance 245/60-14

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=195/&ratio=70&diameter=14&x=101&y=8

15" rims are a good choice if you have big bolt circle disk brakes, if you have small bolt or drum brakes there are no factory wheel's larger than 14", you will need to buy aftermarket custom wheels or convert to big 5X4 1/2"

If you want stock BBP rims. Diplomats/5th Aves are a good source for 15x7s. The C-bodies usually had 15x6 or 15x5.5s on them.

15x7 Mopar have 4.25" BS
15x6 Mopar have 3.75" BS
15x5.5, not sure of BS.

Okay I'll keep on eye out for cars within those body types as I hit the pick a part scene. I think it would be cool to find some plain rims, put some coats of black paint on them, stick on some nice lug nuts....it could look pretty sweet and would be different.

Nice, very nice!!!!!!!! Thanks for the info. :read2:

Find ANY Fifth Avenue, Diplomat, Fury, 70's/80's dodge van or pickup.

Should be 15x7's out there all day.

Yes the more I think about this the more I lean towards just going with some 15's. I'm not necessarily "hooked" on sticking with the 14's so I might have to just be patient and wait for a chance to hit the salvage yards for rims.

How did you go about painting those rims? They look like a pro did them.

check out the V-5's from crager! if they came in 15x4's i would have them in a heart beat but i like my SS look with steels

15x6.5 with 4.125BS 235-70-15
14x5's 195-65-14
