I am reassembling my A833 non-OD. Should the rear bearing that goes into the tailshaft be pressed up against first gear or pressed on just enough to get the snap ring on the shaft? I am assuming it does press all the way up to first gear so the gears are tightly meshed, but need to be sure.

Had a member here explain to that it has to be pressed down until it stops. The bearing won't actually contact first gear. Just an FYI in case someone needs to know.

Press the rear bearing all the way on to the shaft. You will still be able to spin 1st gear on the mainshaft. Dont forget to fit the large bearing retaining ring between 1st gear & the bearing.
