Question about steering wheel adapters??

I wanted to get one for my Tuff wheel, so I found one pretty cheap. What I then realized this one is "ribbed" and about 5". Is that going to be to big?
What is that adapter suppose to be for?
From what I read the A-body adapters are about 3", and smooth. Does it really matter or just a matter of preference?

you sound like you got an e-body one. try the bigger one. i know i wouldn't want the wheel any closer to me then it already is with the a-body adapter..
