Doing some diagnostics on the plow truck, 05 F350

There is a squeal in the front end, and I want to eliminate the front lock out hubs

So, can I remove the bottom part of the hubs, and drive the truck without lock outs?

(I would put the face plates back on to keep dust and junk out, but the front hubs would be freewheeling)

Thanks guys

If it still squeals, it might be the big bearing in the spindle. I’m just guessing that it would have one of those since it’s a 4WD.

yeah, it still squeals, so i got two of these on order
(really i thought i was the wheel bearings from the get go, but i didnt want to just throw parts at it)

should be here over the weekend, but i wont have time to install it untill next week wednesday
there isnt any snow in the forecast so i shouldnt need the truck too much

ill start spraying the bolts down with PB blaster and it should be a pretty straight forward fix
