I bought a 727 trans pan gasket from the dealer today.info from a previous post thanks for the great info, i want to install it tomorrow, what are the torque spec for the trans pan bolts?

According to a '68 shop manual, the 727's "Transmission Cover Retaining Bolts" need 12 foot pounds. :-D

I hope your gasket came with a new filter. Since you're dropping the pan, it's a good time to change it too.

Thanks for the info cudachick1968, i just put
a new deeper pan and filter on but the gasket wants to leak,so i will try
chrylers replacement gasket.

Leaks aren't uncommon. Use some RTV Black silicone too.
