the wix 51515R at 5.517" length wont fit my latest setup. is there a slightly shorter (3/4-16 thread) racing (~60 microns) that will fit, maybe an inch or an inch in a half shorter? I went to several sites but couldn't come up with anything. thank you for your time. RR

What’s the long filter hitting? 60 microns is ok for a race engine that gets looked at all the time. For anything seeing street time that’s not enough filtering IMO.

Wix doesn’t make a shorter race version, but the normal version is what I use. I usually get the NAPA filters made by Wix. 1068 is shorter, and on one I built had so little clearance, I used a 1394 with no problems.

this is a circle track engine that will be run once a week for maybe 45 minutes tops. it will not screw onto the flat plate as the other end just hits the tbar enough to keep the threads from lining up.

I had a remote filter adapter on my one engine, but didn't like the 90° bends. So when I had the engine apart, I tapped the one hole pipe threads, and ran 2 fittings out of the block to a Olberg filter

on a prior eng I drilled/tapped going out to a double filter setup. On this engine all I have done on the exterior is drill more holes in the flat block plate. I do hear good about the oberg setup, wondering why more people dont use it?

I liked the ability to clean it. I still have the adapter I used to use, and here is the small filter that I will use for break in , because I have it laying around

I am going to be useing a much larger tbar on that (pass) side so I better get it in there then rough measure for what length of filter will fit & go from there.
