As a general rule of thumb, how close should a fan blade be to the radiator and how far should the fan blade be inside/outside of the the radiator shroud to be efficient?

If not running a shroud, the fan should be within about 1"-2" from the radiator core for maximum efficiency.

If you do use a shroud, about half of the width of the fan blades should be inside the opening of the shroud.......

I have been told that with a shroud, the fan can be 3/4" from the radiator. and have 3/4" to 1" clearance fan to shroud
Been running a 7 blade fan and clutch on this for 3 years, the hottest it has been is 200 ona 95 degree day in traffic.
Good Luck
