I'm looking for rad ideas / solutions for the engine bay hosting a 440 big block ? Cost and performance are two of my concerns .

Thx
Terry

After fighting cooling issues with next to no room for a good thick radiator and fan for my big block dart I decided to mount the radiator in front of the core support. The cost was no greater than any aftermarket setup, it just took some time to do. My car runs very comfortably at 180-185 now. The radiator is Griffin Radiator 1-86272-X ExtremeCool 31" x 19" 2 row 1 1/2" tube and the fan is out of a Mercedes CL500. You do give up your factory hood latch so you need to run hood pins.

I use a champion 4 row 22" in a mild BB 440 dart no shroud and a 17" non clutch fan and it will idle all day and never go above 190

I ran a summit brand 27.5x19 2 core aluminum radiator. Also ran a summit electric drop in water pump. I used a electric fan for a ford 3.8 tours. That set up had no problem keeping my 10.40 in the 1/4 street/strip pump gas big Block 73 dart cool. But on my next build I am going to install the rad I front of the core support like the other member on here did

open it up to a b body size radiator. I lowered the lower rad support and then beefed it up for support. b body radiators seem easier and sometimes cheaper to get

I just picked up a BE Cool 1000hp unit with twin fans. It's the 2nd car I've put one of these in. That is the best of the best.

The one that is in my car now is a smaller aluminum unit and has twin fans. It will idle all day in 100 degree heat. I just like the be cool units and they look great. IF you'd like the one that is currently in my car PM me. I'd be happy to part ways with it.
