So, my OEM AM radio has a different type of speaker connection than my aftermarket dash speaker. Any problem just cutting the radio "male" type connector and putting a push on terminal connector..? Or, because I'd rather not mutilate the OEM radio connector, is there a way to do a push on connector to female end so I can just use the original radio connect. I wrote that and I'm not even sure if that makes sense..

You could just make a short adapter piece using crimp-on connectors at each end, appropriate to the two items you need to connect. That should work fine for the radio — it's not high amperage and you don't get a lot of corrosion up under the dash.
