:?: Have any of you guys used a radio rebuilder to update the stock radio to new specs. The radio for my Comet is AM only and there is no aftermarket unit that will fit without cutting the dash. I am thinking of sending the original unit to a rebuilder to get made into an AM/FM stereo so it will fit the original dash but would like a referral to an honest, reputable outfit.

I would just hide another radio in the glove box.
Or under the drivers/passengers seat. in the 65 im going to put it in the trunk. the one im looking at has a cabled remote that velcros to where ever you want it.

is it year one that makes the radios that have a face that fits the stock location, but has a second box that you hide like in the glove box that is actually a new, up to date radio? actually, i think it was an independent company, but its worth looking for.

there are radios out there am/fm casette that will fit without modification i bought an el cheapo at wal-mart but took it back cause it sucked tuning it but they are out there.
