I was thinking about radius ing the rear wheel openings on my 64 dart for bigger tires and old skool gasser look. Has anyone done this and have pictures or can tell me what all is involved?
Thanks

turn on "TRUCKS" right now. They are flaring fenders for tire clearance.

Don't have cable tv anymore (that's a good thing).

Hoping someone has done this to any vehicle to give pointers. I thought I would maybe cut about an inch smaller than needed and make relief cuts up to the radius then fold the tabs over to the inside to hold the inner & outer skins together then weld it up from the inside. Good or bad plan??? And why please?
Thank you!

What are your plans, is it mini tubbed ? I plan on fitting a good sized tire with out cutting up quarters. My wheel lips are trimmed and wheel wells are moved in.

Cut out the wheel well opening from a set of front fenders and graft them into the rear.

You will even be able to use the trim then

Great idea will look at that option. Thank you!!!!

This is old school,, Did this on a 63 back in 76,The car looked like the rear wheel well were cut out with a fireman's axe, Cleaned it up with a jig saw to true the arch. got 1/2'' copper tubing and bent it on a 55 gallon drum to make a nice radius. brazed that to the fender and finished it with bondo to smooth it out. This was on a dedicated race car and held up very well over the years.......Just a thought.
