You have about 7.5 feet of room, diagonally from the pass side A pillar on the dash, to the rear on the driver side.

A 10 ft pipe would hang out 2.5' but less than about 18" at that angle.

...plus he has a passenger to hang on to the pipe to keep it from sliding out.
 
At least tape it to the door top window "post" on both doors, and get in either "Dukes style" or from the pass side.

I can guarantee the tape will hold, that way.

I hauled 20 ft sections of fence top rail underneath ,tied to both bumpers once ...
 
If you look at the other offerings for 1949, the ford is WAY more advanced.

Kind of like the 57 Mopars vs the others.

My daughter snapped this picture a few years ago, because she thought it was pretty funny that an old red and white Dodge pickup pulled out of a gas station behind us in my old red and white Dodge pickup. She said we were starting a trend.
