There is (was?) an "eagle cam" similar to this one somewhere on the Mississippi River, and last winter this was a common scene, due to the amount of snow we received.

Sadly, despite all of their diligence over the winter keeping the eggs safe and warm, despite the snow, the entire nest fell do to high winds during a springtime storm.

The first Atlanta Speedway.

This rare postcard shows the Atlanta Speedway, which opened in 1910. The course was the brainchild of Asa Candler Jr., a Coca-Cola heir. Unfortunately, the speedway closed only a year later, and in 1919 became the city’s airport, Candler Field. The site is now home to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This postcard was mailed in 1909, the year before the short-lived speedway opened.

Did you drive through Lewiston Idaho on your way to Missoula?

I lived there 3 years in the mid 90's. Beautiful place!
Love Missoula. Son went to school there, my youngest brother lives nearby in Stevensville. Would love to retire there, wife thinks too cold, I think too cool!

In the spirit of woodcarving, I have been making some walking sticks just for fun.

Here is one that I did. Suitable for trail or urban hiking. It’s a maple branch that I trimmed from one of our trees a few years ago and aged in the garage before working.

Edit:

I forgot the last part where I wrapped the carved grip with self-fusing tacky silicon tape to assure a positive grip in all weather.

I have seen some amazing carved walking sticks/canes on the Antiques Roadshow. If you haven't, maybe search around a little if that sounds interesting. They are definitely inspiring.
