Just a couple questions, as I just swicthed out my leaf springs for the first time.

What do you torque the U bolts down too? My shop manual says 45 foot pounds?

I have also read that you have to re-tighten them after you drive it for the first time? is this true? Should you check them regularly?

Thanks,

Shane

Shane, I was just gonna chk my manual but you have done that, I would go with what manual says and then after driving for a bit recheck the torque. Also did you got proper u bolts that are "flattened" on the top. I have to do the same thing, and flattened ones are recommended, as well on the flattened part there may have grooves in them, so that they sit and stay on the axle housing.

I'm not too sure about the "flat", I'll have to check. I got them from the mopar performance catalogue over the winter...

Tighten in a criss-cross pattern, snug them first then torque to spec. Yes check them after the first drive.
