Just noticed that Street Customs on TLC tonight at 8pmCT will feature a '67 'Cuda. That's all I know, but I am prepared to be disappointed.

Think I'll take a look also....

I'm waiting for bullrun to come back on the speed channel... really liked that show the first time around. Looks like they got 2 mopars?? I know there is a green e-body for sure...

I just saw it and you know, it's the typical "reality" TV bull. What mods did they do? How did they do it? All that I walked away with is what I already know. Dwain can be a real ***. And that most of these rod/custom shops know how to do bolt-ons and don't realy have a clue. Of course that may not be the case and the producer of the show is the idiot and should be dirrecting soap operas or learn a little about cars.

I have it on the DVR for later.

A Cuda... a "tribute to Boyd"... I don't see how Boyd and a Barracuda go together.

I agree, I just watched it and I made the mistake of hoping to learn something. And what happened to Boyd's shop? I see all of the employees working for someone else. As far as the car goes, nice paint, nice interior, nice stereo, new engine- nothing 'new' there.

Just finished watching it. I don't really like it. The front end looks like they forgot to put the grille in. I don't like their choice of wheels. There are a LOT of nicer looking Cudas on this site!

I watched the program earlier today, but about 2 weeks ago i saw it go on BJ and i think it sold for 200K.

It was weird in the program how when they go to commercial the car is still blue, then when you come back it is almost in paint.:thebirdm::clock:

I agree to that. And yes, Dwayne is an ***, it was a no-brainer he would have clashes with the rest of the guys. And no surprise he was a no-show in the end.

I was waiting to see dwayne and Ryan start fighting...seems like all reality shows need that, or thats what the producers think. In my opinion the Barracuda would have been nicer if the grille wasn't blacked out, the windshield trim/back window trim/side window trim wasn't blacked out and they put different wheels and tires on it. If you watched "American Hot Rod" that barracuda was not like the cars that Boyd's shop built, so I don't know how much of a tribute it was. I wish they would have shown more of the build and less of the arguments and indecision.

The car wasnt done that bad. I expected worse. I agree the backed out trim was to much. I didnt like the rims or the exhaust out the reverse light holes and the speaker box was ridiculous.

Yup, it was pretty much as I expected from TLC...more drama, less fabricating. I wish they would have talked about the suspension mods. For my money, I personally like to watch "Chop, Cut, Rebuild" on Saturday mornings.

Interesting that Duane and Berndt are there from Boyd's old place. One thing I noticed about Ryan's shop is the lack of coordination between the specialists in the shop. Maybe that is the reason he brought Duane on board; to schedule the build sequence properly to make better use of time.

I thought they said it was going to some museum. Then it's on BJ and the guy says it's the last thing BOYD did before he died.

wtf????????????????????????????????

Yup........it's typical........It's one reason why I can't stand to even watch the things.........WAY too much "deadline drama" and personal conflict........WAY too little car building. Just ain't worth it to me. I mark the channel and go back at the end to hopefully see the finished product.

It sure ain't a "learning channel" (tlc, that is). :angry7:

I agree8) ridiculous

best shows ever for cars- musclecar when lou santiago was around (he knew what he was talking about and was funny as hell), the new body specialty guy on trucks, and best of all is stacey david...stacey is the man when it comes to all things car, truck, etc....everything else pretty much is just corny and stupid or all about reality b.s....actually come to think of it, most tv these days are garbage reality shows....could be why i never watch tv lol

Most of the time they make the deadlines. But I've seen at least one episode of Overhaulin that they didn't have the car running at the reveal

I forgot to mention Gearz, one of my favorites. A TV host who can actually bend and weld metal.

In regard to car tv shows...

-Musclecar was a decent show, but rotated hosts about every 4 episodes - and I have yet to see a finished project - what the hell ever happened the that 528 Hemi Challenger? Maybe I just missed it, but it seemed like they took on 10 other projects before they ever went back to that one.
-Overhaulin' is pretty cool sometimes, but I'm sick of seeing oversized wheels and 2-tone paint jobs on every car. Why not just do a factory resto, or at least something close to factory. IDK, just not my taste in car restos.
-Horsepower Tv is a waste of air time. They do a Mopar about once every 2 years, and the rest is either mustangs or camaros - plus I can't stand the d-bags that host that show. just pretty much unwatchable.
-Trucks is about the only good show I can stand - Stacy David was the man. At least he could actually do things like weld, paint, work on engines, etc. Plus he included all different types of trucks and SUVs to keep it interesting. Not to mention, he wasn't just a "bolt on" quenn - he actually fabricated and designed a lot of the stuff he did on the show. The new guys aren't bad, but the young guy is kind of a douche.
Bottom line, lets see some real engine/body tech without all the bling and suede headliners and 22" wheels. Let's see a program like Musclecar where they actually finish a project without starting 10 new ones.

PS - I thought Lou was extremly annoying, but I enjoyed the show a lot more w/ him and the other original dude on it.
