Having played with both BBC & Hemis, I think it's safe to say, it's not that the Hemi makes a ton more hp, it's the fact they BREATH easier & produce torque through a broader range. Given what we know today, most engine builers, even Chevy guys (i.e. Sonny Leonard) opt for a hemi head design for this reason. Chevys have alot going for them, but given a "price is no object" or "win at all costs" goal, you'd be hard pressed to beat a Hemi---it's a matter of record...
