Really cheap aluminum bare head? Any good?

-
I bought mine on ebay for 250.00 each bare. I added edelbrock valves PAC springs and comp lock and retainers. Had to heli ciol rocker stands and exhaust bolt holes. Did my own valve job and porting. Now I would just save and buy the trickflows. So I have about 1000.00 in them not counting my work and there not near equal to the trickflow. Listen to IQ52.

Sure would, except that as I've said at least twice now I need a straight plug head and the Trick Flows are angled.
And the TF's are $2000. I'm willing to give up a little for that price difference.

I finally got around to sending the bare heads up to Dwayne Porter for a cleanup and massaging.

He had to clean up the valve job, adjust guide clearances, and mill them (because I ordered 75cc heads and of course they were delivered with the 84cc chambers, which I didn't discover for months). Then the basic Stage 1 port job (bowl work and cleanup), also trimming the guides and blending them into the bowl.

Flow ootb with Ede valves:
Lift——-in/ex
.100— 67.5/53.5
.200—137.2/101.2
.300—202.8/138.3
.400—241.2/160.3
.500—256.1/171.2
.550—262.5/174.4
.600—269.2/176.9
.650—269.2/178.1
.700—269.2/179.3

And after massaging:
Lift—— in/ex
.100—- 72.5/62.7
.200— 148.8/105.4
.300— 217.6/143.9
.400— 261.8/171.5
.500— 286.1/190.5
.550— 290.5/197.8
.600— 292.4/203.7
.650— 293.5/208.6
.700— 294.3/212.2

I like it... nice improvement across the board.
It wouldn't have been worth going to Stage 2 full porting on these heads for my build. For higher hp, start with a $2000 pair of TF240's and go up from there
