rear brake question???

I am wondering if I can install 9 x 2 1/2" drums and brakes on the rear of my car in place of the 9 x 2" ones that are on there???? Does anyone know???

No. The depth of the drum will hit the backing plate before it is fully installed.

I thought I may be able to do it if I changed the shoes as well.

Should be able to swap for the larger shoes, but will need shoes, drums, probably pins (hardware) and will need backing plates too.

I think George is spot on. The axle flange doesn't stick out far enough.
