Rear distribution block

Getting my 74 A-body 8 1/4 ready to go into the car and i pulled the rear distribution block that attaches to the axle tube. I took the hard lines off the thing no problem but when I tried to remove the soft line (hose) it would not break loose from the block. Anyone know if it is integral with the block or do I just need to get a bigger hammer? Any help appreciated!
 
On my 73 8.25 the soft line is separate from the distribution block.
 
On some lines, they are separate, on others they are not.

You have to look at what you have.

You can order the one with the block included to replace it, so you can take it off as one piece and replace it with another one. Point is: you can always substitute the one piece block and hose for the two piece block and hose. What's the easiest way for you to go? What parts are easiest for you to get. Either way it will work, unless you are trying to keep it as original as possible.


You can order the rear hose from fine lines.

Thanks All! I thought i might take the block off the 7 1/4 and try to use it but i need the new soft hose anyway so now i know what to do. Appreciate the input all! O:)
