I have a 8 1/4 and am curious if anyone could point me to a chart or something so I can measure it to see what I’m working with. Trying to determine if it’s a truck or a body or what. ThankS ahead

Lots of BAD info on google you mean.That chart is terrible. A bunch of the measurements are just flat out wrong. Like, it lists an A body 8 3/4 housing as being 51.4” wide. They’re 52 5/8”. And the 7.25’s and 8.25’s are 51.5”, not 51.4”. Yes that’s a small difference, so if you’re just ID’ing an axle it’s close enough, but it’s also wrong enough to screw things up if you’re using that measurement to say, calculate the backspace you need for your rims. Some of the measurements are correct, it seems like the 7.25” and 8.25” axle measurements are a little more accurate. Which is worse than if it was completely wrong, that damn chart won’t die because a couple of the numbers are good so people repost it and spread the garbage.
Better list is here, although it’s mostly 8 3/4 measurements.
