Rear glass drain flaps?

I know this sounds obvious,but where do they go? What do they do? Does the rear glass leak that badly? I don't have working wipers yet,so we don't go out in the rain!
 
If you are talking about the rubber flaps above the deck lid,those are for the "rear defogger".The low pressure area above the deck lid created by air moving along the body as the car moves pulls air across the INSIDE of that huge rear window thru a slit along the side to help keep it from fogging up in winter weather.A most ignored engineering feat for sure.I've allways wondered if the inventor ever got any credit.
 
open the trunk/deck lid and look between the hinges. 2 rubber flaps held on by a metal bar and 2 screws. they are just air outlets
