I will be putting a rear defroster/defogger kit in my 71 Dart. Also, may put a radio and rear speakers in it also, not sure yet. According to the man at Layson's, they carry 2 different trays. Std and Deluxe. Deluxe has speaker holes but is 35.00 more. A waste if I am not putting a radio in the car. But he said that the standard tray has no holes/slots for the defroster/defogger motor. Question is, if your car has the defroster/defogger, where are/did you put the holes/slots for it? TIA.

From the factory it draws warm interior air through the speaker grille . Then blows it out the center of the package tray rear defogger bezel. That long hole will have to be cut in the deluxe package tray. The speaker grille is needed to draw the air. So usually Rear defogger cars only have a left rear speaker.

But some of them had an adapter to use both as seen here.

Wow, my 70 didn't have that adapter. My blower was mounted on 45* support. I did not buy from laysons but I found one with speaker cutouts & defogger slot on eBay.
I added that paper like cloth under speaker slots to add dust covers for the speakers like you find on factory speakers.
