I've been searching for info on interchange of rear leaf springs between different years and models, but it's pretty tough to find. Info on torsion bars is plentiful, but no so much on the leaf springs.
Do all years interchange?
Are there differences in spring rate and/or arch between the years?
I have a 65 Dart convertible 2 bbl V8 with AC and it's pretty squishy. I believe the torsion bars are .850. They mic to about .860 but they're painted so I figure they're .850. I know of a 1970 V-8 AC car that should have .870 torsion bars. I was thinking of swapping these out. Then I got to thinking, if the torsion bars on that car are stiffer, then perhaps the rear leafs are stiffer too?
Not trying to build a race car, just trying to firm it up a bit.
