The right rear tail light on the Scamp I just bought was not working. I took the lens off and it turns out water had got in and rusted out the socket.

Can you buy the light harness by itself? It kinda looks like the housing has a small light harness built into it.

I looked at Laysons, Year One and Paddock, they dont seem to have the housing or what ever it is called.

They do have a rear light harness though.

Anyone have any ideas?

E-bay or junk yard if you are looking for a factory replacement socket.

I've bought replacement light sockets with short pigtails that you splice into your existing harness from NAPA.
Same with me napa!!!

Is it rusted out or full of rust? The reason I ask is you can buy a bore brush for a 12g shotgun and bend over the tip and use a drill to clean the inside up of the socket. Worked good for my wagon, as the taillight's were doubling as a fishbowl.

It totally rusted out, the contacts on the base are completely shot.

If you have a truck stop close by they usally have alot of parts to repair lights

thanks guys, i just found a 71 swinger tail light setup on ebay, woohoo
