Rear Tire Discussion If I may?

Hey All!!
The car the tires are going on is my Demon - All steel car w/SS Springs moved inboard to the frame.
I'm presently using M/T ET Street "R" - 275/60 - 15's.
Best ET is 11.18 with a slow 2-3 shift and a tiny stumble off the line, 60' was 1.48. - that was with a 4.30 gear - was going past 6500 before the traps, I've since changed it to 4.10
I've been contemplating the M/T Pro Bracket radial slick (Pictured)
Reviews on Summitt and Jegs are decent, wondering if anyone has experience with them? Pros/Cons??
I prefer to go with the radial as I run a radial front tire, and of course that will bring up the issue/myth of mixing radial - bias front to rear.....Maybe it's just personal preference?
I thought to myself - what the heck! It's the middle of a COLD winter. I'm waiting for word on my transmission from ATD (Automatic Transmission Design)
Why not come here to the professionals and start up some good conversation before I make a purchase.

These are a great tire.
You will not be disappointed and they last
longer than most other brands.

I do not know what engine size you have but we run 3:91
gears in our big and small block 10 sec. bracket Valiants.
It did not slow down either car over 4:30 gears when tested
and got the RPMs down in the lower 6000s. I believe that
helps the service life of our bracket stuff.

1.48 is actually a very good short time for a low 11 car especially with
the tires you are running currently.

I run a 10.5 wide slick on our cars with just offset hangers and stock fender tubs.

I've been running the same pair for 7 years but haven't been out a ton in the past few years. 28x10.5. They are an excellent tire and will never put a bias ply on the rear of my car. As far as mixing pias on the fronts, I do and plenty of others do too.

Wally has a stout stroker SBM. He can fill in the details. He'll have a mid/upper 10 sec car once he sorts it out. I'll be interested to hear if you folks think a 9" wide tire is enough.

I run a 28x10.5W bias slick to go with my radial M/T skinnies up front. Since that is the slick size that came with my avatar as a roller when I got it, I just purchased the same size slicks again as I knew they worked. Traction is not something I've had to worry about even with my 4.10 and converter that flashes to 5000 rpm at the hit. And I saw no difference in 60' times when I went from a 4.56 to my current 4.10. ETs improved but I think that was as much just sorting the car out.

Can't wait til the snow melts up there and his beautiful Demon starts laying down some serious passes!!

Engine is a 360 based 420 cid w/Bullet hyd roller. .573 lift, 249/257@.050
Once it’s sorted out, I’d like to bracket race it a bit more and I’m really leaning towards these slicks.
Back when I raced the car in the 80’s & 90’s I had bias slicks and bias fronts so maybe just something in my little pea brain that thinks it’s supposed to be that way?
I wonder if these slicks would 60’ better than the Street R?
If I get the slicks, maybe I’ll do a weekend with each set of tires for a straight up comparison.

I run that tire on my Dart. Car runs 10.80s with 1.52 sixty foot. Car has a 4.10 gear.
