Going to swap the original 7.25" rear in the 65 valiant with an a-body 8.75" I just picked up... but still want to keep the original driveshaft (flange type) for now. Are the rear u-joints different sizes between these 2 rears?
thanks!

If the 8 3/4 has the 7260 small yoke the joint will be the same but if it has the 7290 large joint there is an adapter joint that can be purchased at any parts house. FYI your drive line will be 2.25" to long and will have to be shortened.

340Mopar,
thanks for the quick reply... Yes, it's a 741 series 8.75" so it's the lighter duty 8.75". OK, Will have to shorten the driveshaft then - thanks for the info!

Does anyone know if the length of the stock 65 cuda 904 is the same as the length of the stock 65 cuda A833? Just want to make sure that the 2.25" I need to cut out will also be applicable when I eventually swap in the 4 speed
Thanks!

Are you going to be putting a 833 with the flange type joint in the car when you do the change? If so that should stay the same.
