rearend howling

I think I need to reset the gears in my 8 3/4, S/G I bought the 3rd. member as is but it howls. does anyone have an old artical on adjusting or setting up ring and pinion.

The only problem, if's it's the gears making noise. If it's been making noise
for a long time it might have made the gears worn to that pattern. You may
not completely get rid of the noise. You might change it some. Hope you
don't have to change them.
