I have a 70 swinger that Im workin on its a /6 auto with 7 1/4 rear end. It has 46000 org. miles. My great aunt bought the car new. The problem is there is a sound coming from the rear end its almost sounds like a brake scrubing sound I replaced the brakes and does not looks to be the issue. It has plenty of fluid. I was told that it has made this sound sence right after it was purchaced.

Hmmm.............got me. The cure is to drop in a 8-3/4" and you'll be ready for a big block. LOL

My slant 7 1/4 is making noise, but I am pretty sure it is the driver side wheel bearing. The front passenger side is making a brake grinding noise, last night as I backed out of my spot at work I heard a loud Bang/Pop and then there was a grinding noise. It is on and off now and the car is stopping fine. I will take a look at it as soon as I get a chance. It is the daily driver and I have kids so I do not have a lot of free time to work on it.

I will replace it one day just wanting to drive it till I get my 67 finished.
