So just got my rebuild kit from Mikes #K458. This is for my 225 slant 6 1966 dart. This is the 1920 Holley. When I opened it up there is no baffle. Though I clearly see slots to hold a baffle in the casing. Is that ok? The float looks original, and weighs about 9 grams. There is also a ball bearing he included, but the check valve in mine does not appear to be removable nor does its ball bearing. In fact I do not understand how the check valve is supposed to work if it cant be removed? There are also 2 small ball bearings actuated by a plastic piece. These dont appear to be replaceable either.

Anyone have ideas?

The plastic piece is for the power enrichment system, and you really can't remove that whole setup easy. The other ball bearing is for the (from memory) accelerator pump, and it is caged in there unless you remove a plug.

1920s are known for their small passages in the metering block, and Mike's has a video on how to rebuild them. You'll probably do just as well to let the metering block soak in some carb cleaner for a day or so, and blowing out as much as you can with compressed air. As far as the baffle goes, I'd find one. It was assuredly there for a reason.
