I'm doing a little updating and remodeling in our home, looking to replace the light fixtures that are currently there. My wife wants recessed lights; but I have no access above the ceiling, it's a two story house.

My question is, does anyone make a recessed style light fixture that can be installed from below the ceiling?

Thanks

yes, it is pretty simple
provided you have a way to run wiring to it AND you have enough room above the ceiling to plop the fixture in

most of them you just drill a hole, attach the wiring and push the light in
there will be little clips on the body of the light which expand once you push it through the hole and that is what holds it up there

Also floor joists are going to run parallel to the rafters 99% of the time.

Got it! Thanks for the replies. I've put in recessed lighting before, but it was at rough-in, with access above. Thx again

What you do is go upstairs with some 2 foot tube lamp and tell them your wife wants recessed lighting so they will have to walk around them.
