I have bought new valve springs for my 340. I am running the Comp Cams X-treme energy solid roller .570" cam. My question is will 5/16" pushrods be strong enough or do I need 3/8"? Thanks for the helpful advice y'all always provide.

I would call smith brothers, trend, etc and give them your specs. Have them decide what you need.

I'd bet a good 5/16" rod would work fine. What heads and rockers do you have? You may run into clearance problems with larger pushrods.

You better measure the length you need before you buy any.........

Any amount of strength you have in your push rods will not overcome a bind. check that first...

I just bought a set of Smith Brother 5/16" heat treated PR's for my 416 with A Cam Motion solid roller. Cost $168.00
