I'm sondering if anyone can help?? I'm recovering my 1969 dart bockets. The foam has metal rods buried in the slits between the foam sections. These rods are what held the original upholstery seams in the right spot. The upolstery actually slid over the rods and the rods sirved as anchors to hold the fabric in the slits. Do these rods become obsolete if I recover the seats with a generic kit?

dont think so....you should have pockets of material sewed into the bottom/inside of the seat cover. the rods will slip thru the pockets and attach below( thru the foam) to the springs via Hog Rings....if you dont have that you are using inexpensive repop seat covers and they will look kinda "baggy" after being sat in a few times

Thanks for the info. What about the headrests? How do I get them off the seats?
