Remedy for Loose-Fitting Interior Screws?

When re-using the same/correct factory chrome screws on interior parts (visors, for example) I am finding the screws are too loose in the holes. I seem to have heard of a trick to make them usable again, but what was it now? Anybody remember? Thank you.
 
Most 55 year old holes get that way...:rolleyes:


... bend a U of solid wire and hook it into the hole, insert screw.
 
Slip a screw clip onto the body for the correct diameter screw. Or hold a angle piece of steel behind the hole and re-smash it flat with a dull nose body hammer.
 
Insert a narrow zip tie into the hole, start the screw and before driving it all the way in, clip off the zip tie just above the surface. Don’t over tighten it.
