For all of us here in the good old USA remember to take time and vote Tuesday! I am not going to say who to vote for-vote for who ever you dam well want to-but vote. Its only once every 2 years where everybody from the poor to the super rich are the same. Everybody can vote one time only no matter how rich or poor you may be. Sorry if I sound like a square and maybe its not cool to be posting this here but again it be 2 more years till this time comes again. Later guys.

I myself am one of those who ALWAYS vote, come Hell, high water, or dark of night. It truly is one of our greatest priviledges in this country, being able to have a say in who our leaders will be. I try to impress on my children the importance of voting every election and have taken them with me whenever I could get them to go. Get out there and vote for what YOU believe in. That being said, I can't believe the number of people who don't even know who their representatives ARE, much less who is running.

I think worse than not knowing who the rep's are, is the fact that most have no idea what they really STAND for.

There are politicians who BET that the American public is just plain stupid enough to make up their minds about an election based on "hearsay" at best, or worse yet, what "party" they think is cool.

There are forces at work in ALL parties that work for themselves, and NOT the American people or preserving our freedoms.

I enjoy the car hobby.....so I'm careful to be educated on just WHO will protect that freedom. The same with our gun rights, being safe from our enemies, and the enforcement of our laws. We NEED to KNOW who it is we are voting for, and never judge by some crazy half-baked TV ad or what "Joe" said down at the garage.

Let's be smarter than most politicians think that we are....and vote from our knowledge...... we need to preserve our Country and the Freedom we all enjoy.

I Just Voted, First Thing This Morning. Man Its Great Being An American!

do any of you take into account that politics are all just a run around and empty promises? How many of you intend to vote for the retard in charge now? its of no concern to me specifically how many of you will since he hasnt changed much for us canadians really!

And most of your children dont follow it because its not interesting! As much as we all know putting and aligning the right people to be there in the future will help things THEN, our children cant grasp that idea.. Theres just no "time" in there day for it!

i think if i had a choice i would go to an event and knock that douchebag president out! *!*WHAMM*!* just because i would go down in history as a king, assault on the prez is better then making that moron a martyr.( a martyr of nothing too)

well maybe except deciept and scandals. what about katrina? let we not forget this tragedy that was put to the side!

But then again Im known for stirring things up, i have fun debating. exspecially when i dont know what im talking about!

Like Pastortom1 says don't believe the media on what is really happening. It is easier to sell if it is sensationalized. Cerwin looks like you fell for it, we will never know the facts about all of the issues like Katrina, Iraq, etc. Plus it shouldn't concern you since you do not live in the USA. Again like Pastortom1 says vote for the candidate that will support what you believe in, don't vote on past issues. It is a fool that will beat into the ground and vote on past issues. How can you vote on those issues if you don't know factually who is to blame, or why do we need blame? People make bad decisions every day and hindsight is always 20/20. Lord knows that I have made plenty of bad decisions in life. All you can do is learn from those mistakes and try and correct it so it won't happen again. We are only human and humans make mistakes. I would rather have someone representing me that will make a decision good or bad instead of someone that sits on their thumbs and does nothing but collect their tax funded paycheck.

Couldn't have said it any better.

I would not be so sure the retart did win fair and square last time either. Already voting places are reporting problems with these new voting machines breaking down and they are in the poorer areas-who do you think they vote for. It took me a 1/2 hour to vote today and not cause they were jam pack but all the workers were atleast 70 years old and were in slow motion. I voted after the place has been open for 4 1/2 hours and was the 362 person to vote. 10 years ago it use to take me 5 mins to vote. I am sure glad I don't have to go when most are off work tonight-its going to take over an hour. Last time in Ohio people were waiting for 3-4 hours and some of the rich towns it was in & out to vote. Well all I can do now is kick back and see what happens, its going to be a long night I believe.

Half of that BS from Ohio last year was exactly that BS......it was the liberal news media putting the biased spin on things. Fact is young people think their time is to important to waste on things like volunteering to run the polling station and that's why there is only old ladies working there.....My wife and I are sick of that are we are going to ask to work at our local polling station next vote to get some younger more competnet people in there. We live in the greatest country on the planet and all everyone does is ***** about how things are done.....you don't like it get off your *** and fix it. Don't ***** about something and then not offer a solution. There is corruption on both sides of the isle and it comes back to the old saying "Absolute power corrupts absolutly" I really think we should go back to the paper ballots and you mark an X by you choice...then we can wait for 3 weeks to get election results. They was nothing wrong with the punch ballots....they are pretty much fool proof IF and IF you are a compentent person. The only people that are complaining are th eones that feel they are being cheated and they think they are getting cheated on everything in there life.......This country was founded on people doing for themselves and now everyone wants to know what someone is going to do for them.....BS you get what you make of this life and get out of it what you put in.

I voted and proudly wear my "I voted" sticker all day. Even if I didn't want to, I would have to vote. My father-in-law is a retired senator.

Greg

Yeah that true to a point but why not pay people to WORK in the voting places ? The feds have no problems spending millions of dollars on just some studys and pork programs and fancy voting machines but when it comes to paying people to work inside the places they get all cheap. I think these long lines are to get the young people not to vote. Yes the paper ballots were the best-atleast for a fair count- Hey what would be so wrong in waiting a month or so ? They don't take office till next year, save all that money being spent for those fancy machines and have more people working the voting places.

They do pay you to work the polling places.....you aren't gonna get rich doing it but you get paid. I agree on the accuracy and the security of the paper ballots......I for one would have no problem waiting for a fair and accurate count but like everything in this society we have to have it right now.......

Just think about this guys........

We could just stick our heads in the sand and end up going the way of our neighbors to the north...... they've already lost almost all of their guns, and the socialists want it all, and much more.

Here, believe it or not, one of our "famous" left wingers actually introduced legislation to CRUSH all of our cars..............no more old cars, unless they were specially registered "museum" pieces, or trailer queens....... I don't know about all of you, but I would like to keep driving my classic..... DRIVING it.......... not looking at it sitting in my garage or in a dusty museum.

Some think that this type of stuff is all a joke, and that such things could NEVER happen to them........

Was 9/11 a joke? LOTS of Americans said it could never happen to us..........same at Pearl Harbor 60 years earlier..........

We need to be a little more sober, a little more alert, and a little more SUPPORTIVE of our great nation, instead of ripping it every chance we get. It pains me to hear people spout off what they "heard on the news", and adopt it as their own Truth..........the Truth can be elusive..... we need to SEARCH the facts, and be sure of what we stand for.

...........One thing is for sure....... If we don't stand and be counted as Americans who cherish our freedom, we're going to lose it to those who have vowed to destroy us all. THAT, my Mopar friends, is NO JOKE.

In the hope that we can still be enjoying this web site 10 years from now, I ask you to LOVE your country, and stand by her.....and Thank God for your freedom............your freedom to live, to love, to worship as you choose, and to enjoy our great hobby.

God Bless America. (AND our neighbors to the north)

Pastortom1 this is exactly what I was saying and you notice that I do not use the word "truth" because the "truth" and "facts" are two entirely different things. You think alot like I do. Sure maybe our president has made some poor decisions and some may call him a "retard" or what ever. It is still my and your country and presidents come and go. They all have had their good and bad points. Once they disarm us they can have their way with us. A socialistic government is just a communistic government. Why do you think all of these Russians, Ukranians, Mexicans, etc have come to our country? Because for the time being we are the land of opportunity, choice and freedoms, guys and gals lets try to keep it this way. Forget the petty party difference crap, if they divide us we will have less power.

Thats true and the last thing I want is some gay loving gun hating guy in charge. But this guy is taking our freedoms away and it might take 30-40 years to undo the damage this time. I don't know whats coming but it seems like it keeps getting worst scince Kenndy died. Sorry but thats how I feel.

So tell me, what freedoms have you lost? What can't you do today that you could before he was president? :---)

All eligible voters in the Oldschool household have voted... Not sure if we cancelled each other out or not..... :headbang:

What freedoms have I lost

1. half the world hates us now and we have more emenys than ever.

2. Slowy but surely the courts-with the jugdes Bushie pick-are going to ban a womens right to decide if she like to keep her baby or not. Even though I am a guy its going to change my life

3. tThe police-once agian thanks to the jugdes he picked-have more power than ever. Now they need not even to knock on your door if they have a warrent-which is getting easyer and easer for them to get now-the police can just bust right in your house not even wait 5 seconds.

4. I can not fly as easy as before-ok I do know why, but why did it take 9/11 to get locks put on cockpit doors. And maybe if he was not on a month long vaction 7 months on the job 9/11 might have been stop before hand.

5. What about all the thousands of women and children thought out the middle east who are now dead thanks to Bush and the needless wars.

6. Health care keeps going way up same with gas so I have less money to spend and Bush has no plans to try to change it at all.
All he wants is more tax cuts for the super rich and big business

Look I do not want to fight and hope this thread dies tonight or soon after. I am sure we could get this way out of hand so I hope and ask that it will not.

i think that theres a opint that needs to be address, The freedom you so call it that the president hasnt removed, might vary well be something as simple as the life of a child. Do you think that the war in iraq can be simply forgotten? how many children he has sent their and have been killed? You know for a man of such great power you think he would have a better understanding of what he and his office are even doing over their, Ill have to admit that i dont really think he is a bad guy. im sure he has a goal and he is set on it and plans to make america a better place, but is this before or after all of these so called terrorists retaliate? You have to understand that the values and religious beliefs these people have are to kill and sacrifice. ( so to put it, the wording may be offensive but you get a simple and coherant understanding ) These people will not stop growing and protecting what THEY think is right. the rest is all history.

Besides all the problems the world has, like natural disasters, equations like his eratic and beyond comprehensive behavior and decisions its time to accept a new president one that has LEARNED from everyone elses mistakes not like a child who has to learn from his own, have you ever seen such destructive issues and matters arise since bush has been in office?
Canada is always involved in his affairs, we do we have to have our troops go over seas to assist in his presidences?? if war were to break do to his actions then canada would be most indefinetly involved to solely to its locale, the united states and canada are one real country, devided by an invisible line!

as different as we two countries may be, or how great it may be to be american or canadian we are all one and i think that for as large as the usa is maybe you should adopt candian ways and divide sections into presidency enabiling devoted control for its inhabitants, things the west are going to need arent necessarily what the east will need.. and visa-versa, one president cant control a whole nation, its ben proven that it can be stressful and overwhleming, with many leaders smaller issues will not get lost mistreated or neglected

now that i have wasted a few seconds of your life, thanks.
but you know Im kinda right and there are many a reason to have a new order put in place! if he gets re elected you will also notice how somethings a miss and more questions will need to be answered and the same questions that lingered last time will arise once again... are dead people voting?? animals from the cemetary??? people ina fegitative state? mexicans who dont even have a green card? Hmm....

And yes I love Canada and now its my vaction place but why is it so darn cold there in the winter. Was going to Mexico but thats off my list from now on

1. Agreed, but thats not a freedom. They hate us because we are the only world power left, and they sure aren't going to blame themselves for thier problems. We have some of the lowest unemployment rates and highest per capita income in the world. Of course they hate us.

2. You complain about killing babies in Iraq in point #5, but you want to kill your own? Nice! Plus, it hasn't happened yet and probably won't.

3. If your a suspected terrorist, a no-knock warrant can be issued but it still must state what they are looking for. In the "Good old days" Japanese American Citizens were dragged out of thier house and put in "Internment Camps". Who was president? Franklin Delenor Rosevelt, a Democrat. No freedom lost unless you are, of course, a terrorist.

4. What does this have to do with Bush? You and everyone else is being searched because of terrosists, not the president. They may or may not have been stopped if Clinton did his job, if you prefer hindsight. Don't forget, Democrats voted to prevent pilots from having weapons in the cockpit and the airlines could have installed locks on cockpit doors at anytime.

5. Again, not a freedom. But the freedom we have is not free. What of the dead English (Revolutionary War), dead Germans (men, women & children) in the carpet bombings of Dresden in WWII? Dead Japanese, again, men women and children? More people were killed in 911 than the attack on pearl harbor. What about their children?

6. Health care is not a freedom or a right, nor are tax cuts for the wealthy, if thats even true. I remember when I just paid to get done what I needed done. Blame HMO's and the socialization of health care for high prices. Ask Cerwin what he pays in taxes. Don't forget, the wealthy are in a 50% tax bracket. How would you feel if you had a successful shop that you busted your butt to grow and create jobs, your pulling in $150k, and your only taking home half that? Wealthy is a relative term.

So, that being said. I respect your opinion and your ability to voice it, hard won by our military. You mention you don't want to pick a fight, but when you call "our" president names, youv'e got to expect a reaction.

OK, I feel much better now! Now, out to the garage to fabricate a bracket for my electric fuel pump!

Oh-Oh...that's way "I" hate talking politics..In my own Country or about other Countries. Not everyone is the same or thinks the same. People often get put off from comments. I do agree, voting is important to all.....The way I look at it....May the "best jerk win"

PS Cerwin....quit being a Canadian Shi* disturber.. :blackeye: ...he-he
