I have a 68 Dart that I'm trying to remove the drivers side remote mirror on. I have removed the housing from the outside of the door but can't get the bezel and knob off the interior of the door. Right now the mirror and cable are just dangling there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If a 68 is like a 72 (and I think it is), use a pair of needle nose pliers and unscrew the mounting bezel left until it's off. Then remove the door panel to access the mounting clip on the back of the panel.

Thanks! I figured that's what it was but didn't want to tackle it like that without at least a little reassurance.

I use an adjustable hook wrench like this one. I've ground the hook down to where it fits in the slot of either the remote mirror control or the antenna hold down nut. Must be held flat and care must be taken not to scratch paint with handle. Otherwise, it works like a champ.
