Its a 1963 Valiant.
I am having a really tough time figuring out how to remove the, what appears to be, press on nut holding the squirrel cage to the blower motor. I would like to replace the cardboard gasket between the two. I took out the small allen screw, but can't get that nut in holding it on to budge.

You will probably have to destroy that press washer to get the cage off. Wiggle the cage off and steel wool the shaft, it will slide right back on. Lowes, Home Depot or a good hardware store will have new washers. I bought a bunch of different sizes when I found them as they were cheap.

you could drill it or dremmel the press washer off and just make a new one to
hold it back in place. At least yours is metal, the one on my 70 was plastic and
a real ***** to remove without breaking.
